My Marwen students responding to the Arthur Jafa video “Love is the Message, the Message is Death” @mcachicago this morning. I normally skip this work with CPS kids that I don’t know, but we had a discussion about the video before our visit, and they all wanted to experience it together as a group. They unanimously were deeply moved, and even a couple of them shed some tears. I asked if I did the right thing by them and they all felt everyone should see the video. They shared feelings of a new perspective on how powerfully art can alter the way we see things.
